Yvonne Connolly Launches "Dove Self-Esteem" Project

28/4/2021

Yvonne Connolly
Yvonne Connolly and her daughter Ali have been working with Dove to promote their new Self-Esteem Project, which aims to provide tools to help young girls grow up enjoying a positive relationship with how they look. In recent research, the brand found that 87% of the 10 to 17-year-olds they surveyed didn’t have high body esteem.

Yvonne herself has recently suffered a dreadful freak accident when she fell from her horse and completely shattered her face and broke her arm in two places.  Yvonne said that having her accident taught her the hard way to be less self-critical and accept her altered looks, especially as she thought originally that she might loose her eye.  She really wanted to pass on to her daughters and other young people that looks were not the most important thing about a person, she has just learnt to embrace her new look as part of who she now is.
