As Arnotts reopen their doors this week, they felt it a fitting tribute to showcase the city they have loved for over 177 years. Brought to life in beautiful prose, they celebrate the history, the charm and the poetry, narrated by Dublin icon Joe Duffy.
Joe Duffy, Paul McAuliffe, the new Lord Mayor of Dublin and minister Katherine Zappone, were in St Audeon's Park in Dublin City Center last week, at the opening of the 1916 Children's Commemorative Play Garden.
The garden was launched to remember the 40 children killed in Dublin during the Easter Rising of 1916, which was highlighted by Joe Duffy's book "Children of the Rising" Over 220 children and young people were consulted on the garden as part of 2016 Centenary Programmes. They felt they wanted something that would both honour the children of 1916 and give pleasure to today’s children and young people. Ryan was in Arnotts recently to announce the arrival of the most magical toy store in the world "FAO Schwarz", to it's Henry Street location, in time for Christmas 2019.
FAO Schwarz is know for it's life-sized stuffed animals, interactive experiences, high-end toys, brand integrations, and games. The new store will include a replica of the FAO clock tower, which will activate every hour and it features a toy train and soldiers, the giant piano see in Big, the movie and a doll adoption center. This is only their second European location. |
