Anna Geary is a Radio & TV Broadcaster, an All Ireland Winning Captain, and Mindset Expert. She is also a qualified Personal Trainer. Anna is the presenter of “Love In The Country” on RTÉ 2. This show follows six rural singletons on the hunt for love, as they feel living and working in the country makes it hard to find that special someone.
Anna has won over 20 All Ireland medals during her illustrious sporting career, including 7 Senior All Irelands medals with Cork and her club, Milford. Since retiring from Camogie, the Cork native has been carving out a broadcasting career.
Anna regularly presents her own weekly health and wellbeing show called “Supercharged with Anna Geary” Sundays on RTÉ Radio One. The series features expert advice, interviews with well-known guests from the health, wellness and fitness industry, impactful human-interest stories, and audience interaction. Previous topics include Burnout, Disordered Eating, Chasing the Dopamine High, Grief and Loss, Fertility. This show is scheduled to return in November.
Anna was a winning Coach on the popular RTÉ One's television programme “Ireland's Fittest Family” for 2016, 2018, and 2021. She presented the TV Show “Squad Goals” on RTÉ Kids and was also a Sports Pundit for RTÉ’s “The Sunday Game” TV show.
In 2021, Anna presented the very well received RTÉ Two documentary, “Anna Geary: Why Girls Quit Sport”, where she spent several months with a group of young teenage girls learning and uncovering possible reasons for the high drop-out rates.
Anna has previously been a columnist for national newspaper publications including a Fitness and Mindset series for the Irish Independent and also for The Irish Examiner “Feel Good” supplement.
Anna is a popular MC and a qualified Executive and Life Coach with a focus on Performance, Mindset, Fitness and Wellbeing. Anna also has a keen interest in the areas of Leadership and Motivation. She regularly speaks at events on topics including Self-Motivation, Progress Not Perfection, The Fear of Failure, Change and Energy Management. Anna has multiple experience in the corporate world working for large multinationals.
Anna previously presented a radio show Pumped Up Kicks on Today FM with Declan Piece LIVE on Saturdays from 2pm-6pm. The show brought listeners the most up to date sports results from home and abroad. It also featured interviews and advice from experts & well-known sportspeople, as well as interaction with fans, all wrapped up with the best music around. She has fronted “The Sunday Show with Anna Geary” on Cork’s Red FM, and also filled in for the early Weekend Breakfast Show on Red Fm. Anna contributes to multiple mainstream shows including, “Today with Claire Byrne” on RTÉ Radio One.
In 2018 Anna was a finalist on the hugely popular RTÉ One's Dancing with the Stars and was also the Cork Rose of Tralee back in 2014.
Previously, she was the face of a weekly health and fitness slot for RTÉ One’s Today show. Additionally, Anna was the Pitchside Presenter for Eir Sports Live weekly sport programme for Allianz League Games & she presented a sports mid-week highlights TV show on Eir Sport, where they dissected the previous week's matches and performances.
Anna presented the documentary, “Fire in the Blood”, and guest presented on the popular RTÉ show, Tracks and Trails. She also guest presented on “Big Week on The Farm” and featured on the popular health show Operation Transformation as a mentor. Separately on Virgin Media One, she had a sports segment on The Six O Clock Show, a show which she also presented on a number of occasions.
As a founding member of the Women's Gaelic Players Association, Anna is an advocate for reforming public perceptions of female athletes and for breaking down barriers surrounding women in leadership roles across society.
Having won numerous prestigious awards during her career including 4 All Stars, Anna was chosen to receive a coveted ‘Contribution of Society’ award from the University of Limerick Alumni of which only 29 have been awarded in 10 years. She was also inducted in the University of Limerick Sports “Hall of Fame”.
She has worked as a Brand Ambassador for the brands such as Repak, Laya HealthCare, SuperValu, Linwoods, Huawei, Littlewoods Irelands, Cristallo di Milano and many others. She currently works with a variety of companies, teams and on a one-to-one basis as a Mindset Coach. Anna specialises in designing workshops for clients of all different backgrounds, ages and needs.
She is a Business Graduate of The University of Limerick (2009) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations, Communication and holds qualifications in Leadership and Life Coaching. She initially started her career in the IT industry and has honed her skills in areas of Sales, HR, Public Relations and Marketing, before changing career paths to focus on Media and Performance Coaching full time.
Giving back is important to Anna and she has worked in ambassador roles with a variety of charities over the years including Breast Cancer Ireland, CHI at Crumlin, Make A Wish, Enable Ireland, Pieta House, The Hope Foundation.
