Maura Derrane - TV Presenter
Maura Derrane is a Television presenter and Journalist with over 15 years experience. For the last two year she has presented Four Live on RTE 1, A daily live studio based magazine programme which features human interest stories, health, beauty and lifestyle interviews as well as daily cookery slots. Before being given her own show Maura co-presented RTE's long running Afternoon Show.
She was Co-Anchor of TV3’s breakfast show Ireland AM from 2004 until 2006. During the three hour live show Maura conducted studio based interviews, as well as live outside broadcasts from around the country and overseas. She has also presented Feirm Factor, a reality farming show, on TG4 for the last four years.
Before being appointed to that role she was Crime Correspondent for four years with TV3. She broke a number of stories and also presented and produced a documentary on the murder trial of Catherine Nevin where she got exclusive interviews. She presented a four part documentary series called Living with Murder. Maura also worked as a News Reporter for TV3 and TG4 where she covered home stories as well as reporting from Romania and the plight of children in orphanages, the death of Princess Diana in London, and the Irish Army in Lebanon.
Maura began her career with RTE Galway where she researched news stories for RTE’s Western Editor Jim Fahy. She reported for Nationwide on RTE 1 and various arts and entertainment shows on RTE Radio.
Maura is currently filming the third series of Feirm Factor, a reality show for TG4.
