Fluent in both English and Irish, Síle is well-liked as a talented television-radio personality and voice-over artist, and has developed a wealth of broadcasting experience over the past thirteen years in the business.
A native of Spiddal in Co. Galway and the youngest of four children, she has worked on a variety of successful and well-received projects for RTÉ and TG4 including Entertainment, Daytime, Lifestyle, Factual, Young Peoples and News and Current Affairs programming.
Her previous television credits include, Class Act, primetime entertainment series, Nationwide, Up for the Match, The All Ireland Talent Show and Winning Streak as well as a number of Irish language programmes for RTÉ and TG4, including TG4’s cult dating/fashion series Paisean Faisean, the IFTA nominated Feirm Factor and entertainment talent series Feis and Blood also on TG4.
She has worked on a number of radio shows down through the years, including a stint on RTÉ Radio 1’s,Today with Pat Kenny but is in her element fronting her own 2 hour live show every Saturday from 12-2pm on Newstalk 106-108 called Shenanigans.
Another string to her bow, Síle loves to sing. In 2005 she took part in the first Charity You're A Star series and in the process raised over 40,000 euro for her chosen charity. Later that year she went on to co-present season four of the hit series. And on New Years Eve 2010 she sang the Nina Simone classic “Feeling Good” live on The All Ireland Talent Show.
A natural people person, she co-presented RTÉ's live coverage of the St. Patrick's Day Parade celebrations for three years in a row, including fronting the Festival Highlights programme in 2007 and again in 2011.
For two years she travelled across the country reporting and presenting Pobal, a weekly regional and community affairs programme on RTÉ.
She was a guest presenter on RTÉ One's travel programme No Frontiers on numerous occasions and in January 2010 she flew to Thailand to do some reports for the show.
Síle was part of RTÉ’s daytime family having joined her sister Gráinne in 2008 on the stations then flagship late-afternoon daytime show, Seoige and also presented many times with the infamous The Afternoon Show.
She continues to gain respect and praise as a voice over artist as well for her warmth and versatility; narrating the likes of the lifestyle series Feargal Quinn’s Retail Therapy alongside many documentary strands and commercials.
In October 2010 she took on the challenge of her life by reaching the top of the highest freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro, in order to raise funds and create awareness for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and a TV documentary on the climb was screened afterwards on RTÉ.
Alongside her broadcasting career, she hosts various events from launches to awards ceremonies to chairing debates and is popular as a professional MC with a friendly, down to earth style.
She is also proudly an Ambassador for the Dip in the Nip charity fundraiser in which men and women bare all to raise funds for various cancer charities.
