Liz O’Donnell was a Progressive Democrats TD for Dublin South for fifteen years where she held front bench positions on Health and Justice. For the past number of years Liz has worked as a public affairs consultant providing strategic advice in government relations, public and media affairs for organisations and corporates. She was an advocate to the Government for three years for the retail industry (Retail Excellence Ireland) and currently has a variety of commercial, national and multinational corporate clients in the area of public affairs and advocacy. She also lectures on conflict resolution at third level colleges in Ireland and abroad.
She writes a weekly column on politics and public affairs for the Irish Independent and is a regular contributor to radio and television political programmes. She also presented and wrote a four part documentary on Irish Aid in the developing world broadcast on RTÉ Far Away Up Close.
She is a member of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Advisory Board for WXN the Women's Executive Network and a member of the Board of Directors of Chernobyl Children International. Liz was also appointed Chairperson of the Road Safety Authority in 2014.
