Jenny Huston - Radio Presenter - TV Presenter

Radio presenter Jenny Huston presents RTE 2fm's flagship rock shows (Jenny Huston Friday 10:00 – midnight and The Annex - Sunday 7 - 9:30pm) but has extensive radio and TV experience, including everything from daytime talk radio to global music events. Canadian-born to Irish parents, Jenny joined RTE 2fm in 2003, having started her broadcasting career at her University radio station, followed by Radio Kilkenny and then-legendary Dublin pirate, Phantom FM. Her arrival at the national broadcaster made an immediate impact with Ireland's rock-hungry masses, and Jenny quickly developed a reputation for her in-depth knowledge of rock history, while simultaneously giving a platform to emerging talent, Irish and international. Her Friday night show, a combination of new and timeless indie pop and rock, became firmly established as the place to hear quality new alternative music on Irish radio, while The Annex digs into the past, unearthing two and a half hours of rock, Brit pop, indie, punk and grunge anthems every Sunday evening. Two nominations for Best Irish DJ at The Meteor Awards, Ireland's answer to The Grammies, proved that Huston had hit the cultural zeitgeist head-on. 2008 saw Jenny filling in for numerous prime time talk programmes both on RTE 2fm and RTE Radio 1. She filled in for Gerry Ryan on The Gerry Ryan Show, Joe Duffy on Liveline and Ryan Tubridy on The Tubridy Show. She continues its brave, adventurous broadcasting theme, with features on everything from toxic friendships to explaining the intricacies of football to Ireland's soccer-widows. She has also been a regular contributor to Drivetime with Mary Wilson and a contributor to shows as diverse as The Dave Fanning Show, The Arts Show, The Marian Finucane Show, Morning Ireland and Pat Kenny. Jenny presented RTE 2fm's Sunday evening magazine show, The Snug in 2005/2006, covering everything from the emergence of coffee culture to managing your money in modern Ireland, as well as artist interviews.
