Alison Comyn is an Irish Television, Print Journalist and Broadcaster. She is best known as news anchor of UTV Ireland's weekday news and current affairs programmes Ireland Live at 5.30 and Ireland Live News at 10, which aired between January 2015 and January 2017. The programme won the IFTA for Best News programme for its Brexit coverage in 2016.
Originally from Co Louth, Alison is a highly experienced broadcaster who presented numerous current affairs and entertainment programmes in the UK and Ireland with RTÉ, BBC, Sky News and Channel 4. Prior to working at UTV Ireland, Alison was a regional reporter with Independent Newspapers, covering politics, crime and current affairs issues, including her column Comyn Sense. Alison was also a reporter and news anchor with Newsline on BBC NI and Sky News Ireland. She contributed to BBC1’s Holiday and Summer Holiday programme for three years and presented Holiday on a Shoestring and Holiday in Style.
